Family business into its sixth generation

Your hosts are the continuation of the Schäfli’s deep-rooted, unbroken tradition. Fourth-generation Doris Kamm brings fresh inspiration and innovation to traditional hospitality. Her son Guido Kamm and daughter Betina Bader are now the fifth generation to make the Schäfli their life’s passion. Guido Kamm’s son Gino is treading in his father’s footsteps – our first sixth generation representative can be found busy in the kitchen. And Betina Bader’s daughter Luana already knows that she will be dedicating herself body and soul to the Schäfli. She is building up experience in the restaurant trade.

The Schäfli can look back at a long tradition of owners putting their heart and soul into serving fine food and drink. The foundation stone was laid in 1846, when local farmer Xaver Kessler bought the property that would become today’s “Schäfli”. His highly successful cloth and spirits shop was the seed that would grow and blossom into the business we love today. As the next five generations poured their passion and energy into their trade, this seed planted by Xaver grew into a permanent fixture of the local economic fabric and gradually evolved into today’s much-loved Hotel Schäfli.
